SINGLE SESSION
DISCOVER THE STORY | $222
During this session, Rick will lead you through a process of discovering the story that has been guiding your behaviors and beliefs around a particular situation or question. Once you can see the story outside yourself, you have the power to evaluate the story as part of your life, and decide whether you want to keep it, edit it, or create an entirely new story. You’ll also receive some materials to help you with Integration of what you discovered.
4-SESSION PACKAGE
LIVING THE STORY YOU WANT | $777 for 4 SESSIONS
A path for finding clarity, and creating new possibilities; ideal for examining a story that has guided your behaviors and beliefs. (55 minutes each)
- Session 1: Discover the Story: Clarity
- Session 2: Assess the Story: Discernment
- Session 3: Transform the Story: Empowerment
- Session 4: Live the New Story: Integration
In Session 1, “Discover the Story: Clarity,” Rick will lead you through the process of discovering the Story that has been guiding your behaviors and beliefs. You will also get clarity about what has been holding you back, or keeping you from what you truly want.
In Session 2, “Assess the Story: Discernment,” you and Rick will look at what the impact of the old Story has been in your life. Often, story work brings up feelings to process, in response to seeing the old Story clearly – sadness, anger, relief, confusion. You and Rick will have tools to help you with that important processing.
In Session 3, “Transform the Story: Empowerment,” you listen for what you truly want, and create a New Story that’s congruent with your hopes and sense of direction.
And in session 4, “Live the New Story: Integration,” you will explore what it might feel like to live the story your deeper self has longed for. There are practices and tools you can use, and you may want to fine-tune the New Story so it will truly become your path.
These sessions can occur as close together as one per week, or as far apart as one per month. It will depend on how much time you’ll need to truly integrate the realizations and possibilities that you’ll create in using Rick’s story work process.
It may be that you want to schedule more than 4 sessions, in order to dig deeper into any phase of the process. We can meet as often as you need, in order for you to achieve the clarity and empowerment you wish for.

I use story work processes with nonprofits, schools, seminaries, churches, men’s organizations, and more.
I can work with you, your leadership team, your entire staff, your volunteers, your board, or everybody connected to your organization.
We can look at any aspect of your organization – its mission, its goals, its performance, how it feels. We’ll dig into the stories that are guiding your group’s behaviors and beliefs, and how those stories are impacting results, direction, and effectiveness.
Then, we create a story – a path – that reflects the truth of what you want your organization to be. It might involve small adjustments, or a bold reimagining. And we can also create a strategic plan to help you live the new story. COMPONENTS INCLUDE:
- INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS
- I can work with anyone in your organization, to support their clarity and effectiveness as people and as members, or specifically around an issue you want the organization to work on.
- It can be very helpful for leaders to do individual sessions for their own clarity around what’s guiding their behaviors and beliefs, in order to lead with focus and integrity (or whatever else you decide you’re emphasizing).
- WORKSHOP OR RETREAT
- I also work with the members of the organization – whether leaders, staff, volunteers, board, key shareholders – to examine the shared stories and beliefs that are guiding the organization. There are processes we do together, listening to each other, and sharing insights and ideas.
- The workshop or retreat can be on-site or remote, and we’ll design it to fit the objectives you identify. I’ll include teaching and modeling, individual reflection, group interaction, laughter, critical thinking, and “story-making.”
- MULTI-SESSION PROJECT
- We can also do your process in a series of meetings, with interactions and assignments in between, each session having a different focus or step toward your goal. I’ve seen this work well with large-scale projects such as strategic growth planning and big-goals exploration.
GROUP EVENTS: EXPLORING TOGETHER
retreat or one-time event
I love working with groups of people who are on a path of exploration together. It can be some friends, an affinity group, a church group, or an entire organization.
I’ll meet with your leaders ahead of time about your wants and needs, and I’ll design an experience for you.
We can have a day retreat, or an overnight, or longer. I can come to you, or we can meet at a retreat facility. (I have done, and can do, group retreats by Zoom, but I prefer in-person.)
Expect laughter, digging deep, group interaction, individual reflection, powerful insights, and transformation.

I will meet with you on a regular basis as we talk about what’s happening in your life, in your thoughts, and in your heart. I’ll give you feedback, invite you to consider options, and we’ll listen for direction together. For some people, this is Spiritual Direction; for others, it’s Coaching. I’ll tailor it to fit your needs, and we’ll keep meeting as long as the work is meaningful.
NOTE: I have limited availability for this work, and it’s important that it be the right fit for both of us, so, we’ll do some discerning about that together.
